A new bipolar diathermy forceps system was developed to solve the problems of constant, pressure-limited flow rate, and one-sided irrigation. A roller pump, activated synchronously by pressing a foot switch, feeds dripping and flushing solution to the target tissue via the tip at both ends of the forceps. This system is volume-limited.
Two types of bipolar diathermy forceps were developed by modifying available single‐use 23‐gauge peeling forceps (Vitreq, the Netherlands; Bausch & Lomb, US). In Type 1, the emitting electrode is connected to one‐half of the core and the return electrode to the other half, with one jaw of the forceps attached to each half of the core.

In 420 Bipolar diathermy cutting and hemostasis was performed using bipolar forceps with a Valleylab machine set at 15.
Bipolar diathermy forceps with automatic irrigation. Technical note. Ohta T, Funatsu N, Kuroiwa T, Matsui T. A method for providing a saline drip during bipolar diathermy is described. Stainless steel tubing is incorporated in both blades of standard bipolar forceps and connected to the irrigating line.
Bipolar forceps are designed to deliver gentle coagulation.
The insulation coating on the CLARIS non-stick bipolar forceps resists high alkali cleaning agents. CLARIS non-stick bipolar forceps are AUTOCLAVABLE at 137°C: The CLARIS non-stick bipolar forceps body is of hardened stainless steel. This ensures constant spring tension throughout the life of the forceps. Bipolar diathermy had narrower coagulation boundaries (Tate et al. 1975; Parel et al. 1983). There have been no advances in intra‐ocular diathermy design since the 1980s, in contrast to laparoscopic surgery, where bipolar diathermy forceps are routinely used since the 1990s (Entezari et al.

Although bipolar diathermy forceps tonsillectomy needs equipment that is less expensive, its outcome is comparable to that of bilateral scissors tonsillectomy. View.
Electrosurgery is the application of a high-frequency (radio frequency) alternating polarity, Appropriately applied with electrosurgical forceps, desiccation and coagulation Diathermy is used by some as a synonym for electrosurger
The forceps styles include NS and AURA™ non-stick, titanium and stainless steel. Bipolar forceps are available in irrigating and non-irrigating, stainless steel or titanium, straight or bayoneted, insulated or non-insulated, and reusable or disposable, to offer the surgeon the optimal instrument for their clinical needs.
The most commonly used bipolar coagulation instruments are bipolar forceps. Fig. 1: The electrodes of the conventional bipolar coagulation forceps are Monopolar diathermy coagulated blood vessels, but caused collateral retinal damage. Bipolar diathermy had narrower coagulation boundaries.
